Who: Independent, multi-award winning cider maker
Where: Shepton Mallet, Somerset
Services: Brand creation and development, packaging design
When we first started working with cider maker Neil Worley, most of his cider was made in his garage and sold at a handful of local pubs and events. He now has much bigger premises, exports his cider to America, New Zealand and Canada, and is regarded as one of the finest cider makers and blenders in the country. Among the long list of awards Worleys Cider has received in recognition of its excellence is a rare 3-stars for Special Reserve at the Great Taste Awards 2019, swiftly followed up by the Nigel Barden Heritage Award – one of the most prestigious in the food and drink industry.
To reflect the growing success of the business, and to keep up with the positioning of traditional ciders as a premium drinks products alongside the expanding craft beer market, we recently developed and implemented new branding.
A clean, contemporary logo has been created with a graphical motif based on the rolling Mendip Hills, from where the cider’s apples are grown and fermented. A simple, bright colour palette is used to distinguish the various products and help grab attention against the largely black and white designs, while illustrations add some character to the labels without distracting from the essential information.
